Sacramento, Calif. - The Butte volleyball team fell to Modesto, 3-1 (25-16, 20-25, 25-19, 25-23), and Cosumnes River, 3-0 (25-12, 25-17, 25-21) on Wednesday evening.
Freshman Rylee Keim led the Roadrunner offense against Modesto, racking up 11 kills with 11 digs, while sophomore Kylie Walsh and freshman Kaitlyn Poblano both dug 13 balls. Poblano added a match-high three aces, while freshman Audrey Jones earned a pair of blocks.
Against Cosumnes River, Keim tallied seven kills with seven digs, while Walsh earned a team-high nine digs. Freshmen Maddie Friar and Zada Varner each earned a pair of solo blocks.
Butte (3-7) remains on the road, heading to the Monterey Peninsula Classic next to face Porterville and the host team on Friday, Sept. 15.
