Roadrunners Take Pair of Sets, Lose to Porterville, Monterey Peninsula

Monterey, Calif. - The Butte volleyball team lost four set matches to Porterville (21-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-23) and Monterey Peninsula (15-25, 25-14, 25-10, 25-12) on Friday afternoon.

Freshman Rylee Keim earned a match-high 16 kills with seven digs to lead the Butte offense against Porterville, while sophomore Kylie Walsh earned 13 digs and five aces on defense. Sophomore Riley Gainza added 10 digs and two aces.

Against Monterey Peninsula, Walsh paced all hitters with 16 kills with three aces, while Gainza racked up 16 digs. Freshman Audrey Jones earned three blocks.

Butte (3-9) head to the Los Medanos Quad next, taking on Solano and Los Medanos on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
