Five Runners Compete at CCCAA Championships

Fresno, Calif. - Five cross country runners represented Butte at the CCCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning.

Sophomore Ariana Smedley and freshman Risa Reynier represented the women's squad, finishing 104th and 117th, respectively, out of 155 total competitors. Smedley ran the 5,000-meter course in 21:53, while Reynier completed the race in 22:26.

On the men's side, sophomore Michael Sides was the top finisher for the Roadrunners, placing 67th overall in a time of 21:39 on the four-mile course. Sophomore Matthew Garcia finished in 21:59 (86th), and sophomore Jeremiah Knoch was 153rd (23:24). In total there were 176 male runners.
